Stephanie came to the study of Ancient History at Macquarie after spending nearly one and a half years travelling around Europe, the Caucasus and especially the Middle East. She was so fascinated by the ruins, museums and palpable antiquity of the region that she decided to learn about it properly after having previously studied in the disciplines of Law, Political Science and Philosophy. She enjoys how Ancient History incorporates aspects of art history, scientific archaeology, anthropology and critical textual analysis. Her interests are broad but she is particularly intrigued by ancient religion and areas of cultural interchange, transformation and transmission such as along the Silk Road and the Roman eastern provinces.
