Dr. Leyla Rasouli Narimani |

Leyla Rasouli Narimani was born in Zanjan, a Turkish speaking province in northwestern Iran. She wrote her MA thesis on the Zoroastrian Middle Persian book Bundahishn at University of Tehran in 2005. In 2010 she completed her PhD on Religions among Sogdians in the Institute for Humanity and Cultural Studies, also at the University of Tehran.
In the course of her studies in Iran Leyla taught Middle Iranian languages (Middle Persian, Parthian and Sogdian) at Azad University, whilst concurrently being employed as a researcher at the Persian Academy and Institute of Danesh i Parsian (DAPA) in Tehran.
Her PhD thesis involved her in a variety of subjects such as Buddhism, Christianity, Manichaeism and Zoroastrianism. This also raised her interest in a vast area of Iranian influence - from Mongolia in the East to Asia Minor in the West.
In August 2010 Leyla migrated to Australia and she is currently working on Manichaen studies in the University of Sydney. 
Her ongoing work with Iain Gardner has focused on various aspects of Manichaeism.
Leyla is interested in Iranian Religions (Zoroastrianism and Manichaeism) and Middle Iranian Languages particularly Middle Persian and Sogdian.
