Daniel Lee |
A PhD candidate of Macquarie University, Daniel Lee is currently conducting research on Confucian Poetics which is one of the manuscripts from the corpus of bamboo slips dateable to the Warring States period (circa 300 BCE). The manuscript is a record of pre-Qin Confucian didactics of Shijing (The Book of Poetry) and its contents have not been previously transmitted. This project entails a cross-disciplinary approach involving philological, philosophical, hermeneutical and literary investigations. Daniel’s other academic interests cover modern and contemporary Chinese and English literature, critical theories, Chinese history, classical Chinese poetry and is a collector of 19th century and modern Chinese paintings and calligraphy.
